JAX Jaguars Defense in 2011

The Jacksonville Jaguars need to clear up their injuries on defense if they hope to have a successful 2011 season. The Jacksonville Jaguars are heavily dependent upon the concept of Aaron Kampman being able to get pressure on the quarterback. Kampman suffered an ACL tear and they are going to need to be able to find success in the NFL Draft and end up potentially drafting a guy like Adirian Clayborn.
JAX Jaguars Defense in 2011
There are a lot of good defensive players in the draft. Some people have also been down on defensive end Derrick Harvey who is in his fourth season in the NFL Harvey has not had a good motor in many games, but several people in the league have merely questioned Jack Del Rio‘s ability to have an effective draft instead of considering whether or not Harvey has truly lived up to expectations.

Sean Considine also has to prove that he can play an effective role in the defensive back field as well. If Considine is not able to prove that he can play at an NFL level, the team will likely look for an increased role from a guy like Terrell Whitehead. Terrence Wheatley out of the University of Colorado is someone who able to get drafted into the NFL off what was largely a very bad Colorado Buffaloes team.

This means that he likely would not be unwilling to take on tough wide outs in the AFC South like Reggie Wayne and Andre Johnson. A

What Does The Future Hold For Matt Hasselbeck in 2011?

With the free agency market thicker than ever it will be interesting to see where many players land, once the season starts. One of the major free agent Qbs on the market will be Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
What Does The Future Hold For Matt Hasselbeck in 2011?
Hasselbeck has been the ruler of the roost in Seattle for a while now. The one time back up to Brett Favre has proven himself many times over in Seattle. He has led the team to the playoffs on numerous occasions, and took them to their only Super Bowl appearance. Unfortunately Hasselbeck has gotten older, and has become very injury prone, which has led many people into believing that the Seahawks will part ways with him once the season starts.

The truth of the matter is that Hasselbeck will likely stay in Seattle for at least two more years. The team hasn’t managed to find a replacement for him, and likely won’t be able to in the upcoming draft. He is a proven locker room leader, who knows the Seahawks offense inside and out. Hasselbeck will likely start for the Seahawks in 2011 as they attempt to find his replacement. Even if the Seahawks do find a QB in the draft, they will likely let the youngster spend the first year holding a clipboard, and learning behind the

New York Giants 2011 Draft Hope

Coming into this years draft the New York Giants have a couple of different ways to go. Their offensive line is in shambles, and while shifting players around the line almost got New York to the play offs, it was that same line that failed them when big games were on the line. Eli Manning is jittery in the pocket, and needs players he can trust around to protect him. If the offensive line doesn’t improve, neither with the Giants chances of reaching the post season.
New York Giants 2011 Draft Hope
The Other glaring hole that the Giants need to deal with is their running game. Long gone are the days of Earth, Wind, and Fire. The Giants need a powerful, every down back who they can trust in those crucial short yardage situation. The Giants were one of the worst teams on third and short; adding a top tier running back would help correct this, and allow the Giants to close out those tight games which are decided by six points or left.

If the Giants choose to go for an offensive lineman, look for them to try and snag Mike Pouncey if he is still on the board. He would make a great anchor for the line, and would require constant

If you follow the recent events in football, you have probably heard of the December 12th game between the Jets and the Miami Dolphins. I know, for many it was just a game but its aftermath is still widely discussed. And now, with the new revelation about Alosi, things are getting even more complex (don’t they always do?).

How much do the NFL stars make

No doubt football is a violent sport. And you have probably noticed it yourself, with all the injury reports and all. No wonder that the usual span of a NFL player career is only 3 years. And so there is a reason that whoever made it to the NFL wants to sign as high contract as possible straight away to secure any possible money he can before he becomes unable to play, or dead.

But do you know who makes the most money in the NFL today?

Cavs looking for a road win against the Eastern Conf Elite Magic

The 6-8 Cleveland Cavaliers tip off against the 10-4 Orlando Magic at 7:00PM Eastern on Friday, November 26 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The Magic are tough at home, having won 7 out of their last 10 home games so far this season. The Cavs, on the other hand, are struggling on the road, having won only 3 out of 7 road games. Couple that with the fact the Magic have beat the Cavs in 9 of their last 13 regular-season matches and have taken 6 of 8 in Orlando, and it’s obvious the Cavs are going to have to show up ready to play.

The Lebron James-less Cavs have struggled without their superstar so far this season, while the Magic are coming off a big win Wednesday night against their rivals, the Miami Heat. Having avenged a lopsided loss against Miami earlier this season, the Magic are trying to avoid a let-down against the weaker Cavalier team. The Cavs are simply tryng to tread water, and are trying to build upon a close win Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers are a team that still has to come to terms with the loss of their superstar player. Lebron James’ departure left the Cavs without a star player they can count on nightly to put points on the board. Mo Williams stepped up his game against the Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night by hitting a jumper as the clock wound down, but it remains to be seen if he carry his team from night to night.

“You got to be willing to take ‘em and make ‘em,” Williams said of the shot. “I definitely got to be the guy who makes plays. I’ll accept that role.” Hopefully for the Cavs, Williams does exactly that. He’s the team’s leading scorer, but at only 14.8 points per game, that isn’t saying much. He put 25 points on the board Wednesday, and will give Cleveland a fighting chance if he carries the momentum into Friday night’s game.

Dwight Howard has been on a tear for the Magic so far this season, and is averaging 21.9 points per game. He put up a double-double against the Heat Wednesday night, finishing the night with 24 points and 18 boards. The Magic are tough to beat when Howard puts up a double-double, and he’s put one on Cleveland the last 3 out of 4 meetings. Keep in mind that was last year, when the Cavs still had Lebron.

On paper, this game is going to be a rout. in order to make a game of it, Cleveland will have to figure out a way to shut Dwight Howard down without conceding to many points to Orlando’s other four starters. This could prove difficult since the 3 of the other 4 starters are averaging over 10 PPG. Orlando packs a potent punch with Howard leading the team, followed by Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis and Quentin Richardson. The only wild-card is Vince Carter’s knee. He sat out the game Wednesday night and is listed as day-to-day. If he sits Friday night, that’s one less threat the Cavs have to worry about. They’ll still have a tough road to victory, but it may be a little easier with Carter on the bench.

Warriors look to solidify their good start

The Golden State Warriors have come on strong early in the season, trying to make a statement for success. They currently sit at 3-1, their lone loss coming to the behemoth that is the LA Lakers. The hold the second ranking in the pacific division and are looking to go on a roll coming off a win against the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite being embarrassed by the Lakers, the Warriors have been rattling heads everywhere else they have played.

Starting point guard Stephen Curry is still out, nursing an ankle injury, and is classified as day to day. Despite this the Warriors have no lack of talent around the ball, and pose a major threat to any team not called the Lakers.

Against the Grizzlies Monta Ellis had an all star day, knocking down 39 points. To compliment his performance the entire team played extremely well. Golden state will need everything they can muster going into a game against a Utah Jazz team that is looking to cut down another savvy opponent.

The Utah Jazz have looked to be one of the best full units in the game, and are much better than their 2-2 record suggests. Utah has been getting strong production from every single member of the team, from starters down to the last man on the bench. Despite losing Kyrylo Fesenko, Mehmet Okur, and Jeremy Evans to injuries along the way nothing has truly shaken the Jazz. For every man than falls a new one steps up to take his place.

The Jazz could very well be 4-0 right now, however they stumbled a bit out of the gate this season, losing to both the Suns, and the Nuggets. Their last two outings have been impressive wins against the Raptors, and a very good Oklahoma Thunder team, that surprised many.

Despite the disparity in the records the Jazz are probably the favorite to win this game. Their offense has been clicking and they are playing at a very high level. If Utah wants to take this win they will need to score, and score fast. Their defense is adequate, but not impressive and it is something that the Warriors will strive to exploit. The Lakers set down the template needed to unseat the Warriors, and Utah has the kind of power offense that can follow that example.

The key to winning for the Warriors in this one if defense all the way. They have a stable offense that can pick and choose the shots, but the offense of the Jazz is not one to be trading points with. Utah has an absolutely lethal offensive attack, and if they build a lead is may be too much for the Warriors to overcome. Golden State will need to play hard, in your face defense to prevent playing from fifteen points behind the whole game. The Jazz are 2-0 when scoring over 100 points, and 0-2 when they score less. The Warriors best shot in this game is to keep the scoring manageable, they don’t play well from behind, so they need to keep it tight all the way.

Jets looking to keep Miami down in Week 3

The Miami Dolphins are one of the biggest surprise teams in the NFL so far this season. They might have only played two games, but one of their wins was against the Vikings on the road, which is very impressive. The Jets have been predicted by many analysts to go to the Super Bowl. After their Week 1 loss to the Ravens, many of these same analysts were backtracking, but one game doesn’t make a season. The Jets proved that last Sunday vs a high-powered New England Patriots team. Not only did the Jets defense play well, but the offense also scored 21 unanswered points. Was this due to a solid Jets offense or a poor Patriots defense? That will be revealed through time. For now, let’s take a look at the Dolphins vs Jets match-up this Sunday in Miami.

The Jets and Dolphins have quite a history. No matter how good or bad one team is, these games are almost always close. They have been playing against one another for so long that it’s almost like two brothers playing against one another in the backyard. They know the other one’s strengths and weaknesses, and they know what they other one will do. It’s just a matter of whether they can stop it or not. Last season, the Dolphins won both games by a total of 9 points. The Jets will [...]

Week 3 challenge for the Rams

The Washington Redskins have high expectations for this season. They brought in veteran QB Donovan McNabb and high-profile coach Mike Shanahan. Despite an average 1-1 record, their season has really been more successful than that. In Week 1, they shocked the Dallas Cowboys on national television. Last week, they were beating the Houston Texans by a comfortable margin. But the Texans are known for their late comebacks and they did it to the Redskins. What made this especially tough for the Redskins and their fans is that it had looked as though the Redskins won the game with an overtime field goal. However, the Texans called a timeout right before the kick, which negated the field goal. When K Graham Gano kicked a second time, he was not successful. The Texans got the ball, and once that happened, you knew the game was over. Luckily for the Redskins, they play the lowly St. Louis Rams in Week 3.

The Rams racked up a win total of 1 in 2009. Yes, that’s correct, 1. This means they had 1 win and 15 losses. It has been quite a fall since the Kurt Warner Super Bowl days. On the [...]

Saints and Brees looking to knock off the Falcons

Saints are favored over the Falcons in week 3!

Week three of the NFL season is promising to be a good one! We have many divisional rivalries taking place this upcoming Sunday, and none should be a better match-up than the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons in this NFC South showdown.

The Saints have had two tough victories, proving that their Super Bowl run in 2009 was no fluke. Their home opener, against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night, showed football fans everywhere that this team is for real. Not only has this high power offense still found ways to move the chains in difficult situations, but the defense has once again been a turnover forcing machine against the Vikings and the 49ers this past Sunday.

The Saints suffered a key loss in this past matchup against the 49ers, however. Reggie Bush will have to [...]
